Campbell Arnott's initially set out to find a managed web hosting provider to offer a reliable, last-minute solution to a time-sensitive challenge. With Melbourne IT Enterprise services, they now have a long-term working relationship to support their future growth.


Campbell Arnott's was approaching a major milestone in their company history: 150 years of biscuits in Australia. To help their loyal customers celebrate their beloved biscuit brands, the company's marketing team decided to work with a digital agency on a new website project. The creative and content were in good shape, but as the anniversary date rapidly approached, Arnott's realised that their agency couldn't provide the hosting platform that would give their customers the kind of experience they wanted to deliver. Time was of the essence, and they needed to find a new partner with the skills and the capacity to reengineer a long-lasting cloud configuration on the fly.


Campbell Arnott's first came to Melbourne IT Enterprise Services because they had worked successfully in the past with WebCentral, a Melbourne IT company. And as an Amazon Web Service (AWS) partner, they knew Melbourne IT could provide an AWS cloud hosting solution with local tech support – two of Arnott's key requirements.

According to Dave Miller, APAC IT Service Delivery Manager at Arnott's, it was meeting the Melbourne IT team that really gave him confidence. "They had that can-do attitude," he says. "All of them were just great people."

As soon as they were briefed, the Melbourne IT team got started on a fix. "[Melbourne IT] worked on a handshake agreement, and you just don't see that these days. It was astounding to see," MIller says. "Melbourne IT just made it simple to work with them."

Using a DevOps approach to the challenge at hand, they worked closely with Arnott's IT and marketing teams, as well as the digital agency, to find a reliable solution in AWS in time for the big launch.

"They just make things work," he said. "It's amazing the ingenuity that they showed." With the launch a success, Melbourne IT then helped Miller to develop a more forward-looking plan that would ensure the same ongoing reliability for his company's broader web presence. Melbourne IT's now delivering a unified managed service, replacing more than a dozen web servers to a single, consolidated AWS cloud solution.For Miller, after such a positive experience, it just made sense to bring even more of their web assets into the cloud.

Plus, Melbourne IT's solutions made managing the company's digital presence much easier without the extra costs that he had previously expected with managed service providers. "I'm getting the full works version, and I'm not paying that much extra, with all the bells and whistles," he says. "And it's not just money for them. Melbourne IT wants to provide a service that works and helps you. From their technicians to their AMs, you can't fault them. Now we have a one-stop shop to plan whatever we want."
